8-bit Pale Ale: The Video Game
The folks at Tallgrass Brewing Company asked me to design a beer-based Video game. I designed several levels as well as the gaming aspects (collecting hops, crushing cans, etc.) and our hero character. Inspired by the 8-bit Pale Ale can, I created a series of retro characters to fill out the Tallgrass Video Game world.
All of the puppets and sets are made of paper and cardboard. It made for a lot of cutting, but we wanted to really capitalize on that home-crafted feel.
We shot the spot over a series of two days and had a small army of friends to help hold rods and pull strings. The goal was to produce as much of the video game in camera as possible.
It was expertly shot and edited by Chris Luckey, who was responsible for the Velvet Rooster ad we first did for Tallgrass.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes photos and clips of how we put this together.
