Who is this guy?

Welcome! I am a puppeteer who designs, constructs, and performs original puppets for live theater and recorded media. I have experience with a variety of puppet types, styles, and sizes. I now build puppets (hand, rod, shadow, mouth, string) as well as full-body puppets, and articulated props.

Creating Squiggle Puppet Productions when I was 15, I produced and toured two full puppet shows for four years. At 17, I built the two title characters for a regional TV pilot, training professional actors how to puppeteer, and puppeteered one of the main characters. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Theater, I spent a year building, touring, and performing for the award-winning Paul Mesner Puppets Inc..

Training: As a young artist, I am continuing to develop my skills but I have been lucky enough to have been a five time participant at the Eugene O'Neill Puppetry Conference. Through my time there, workshops at Puppetfest Midwest, and Puppeteers of America Festivals, I have learned from some of the top professionals in the field, and around the world. In 2006, I participated in a puppeteer training workshop held by Sesame Street. I am a member of UNIMA-USA and Puppeteers of America, serving as an Associate Artistic Director for the 2011 National Puppetry Festival and as a member of the development and artistic committee for the 2013 festival.

On Stage:  I regularly perform improv with both Stitch Tactics and Those People Comedy. Those People has been fortunate to open up for comedians such as Lonnie Love, Jason Sudeikis, and will open for the regional tour of Second City in November, 2011.

I am available for commercial and theatrical projects as a puppeteer, puppet builder, writer, consultant, actor and improviser. I am always looking for exciting new work that explores puppetry in compelling ways.
